RIDGEDALE, Mo. (AP) __ With Memorial Day weekend quickly approaching, about half of the campgrounds around Table Rock Lake remained closed because of high water or debris left from recent flooding.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says about 450 campsites were closed as of Wednesday, including Moonshine Beach and Mill Creek Campgrounds. The corps says its marinas are accessible. Other campgrounds are open, but campers should expect to see a lot of debris left from high water. The corps says it is waiting for government funding to help with the
cleanup.
Table Rock was at 928 feet on Wednesday, after reaching a record 935.47 feet in late April. The lake normally is kept at about 915 feet.
